Well sort of. I'm not 30 until this Friday, and I can't do standing back flips anymore but I do think I am in the best shape of my adult life. (If I qualify as an adult - no reply from Julee please).
That's right. I turn 30 this week and normally I would be in the throws of depression right now. In fact, it has been building up for about the past 3 years, and I was going to let it all out at this year's birthday. At first it was "I'm 24 that is still lower 20's.". Then it turned into "I'm 27; that is still mid-20's.". And then it started to get more desperate with "I'm upper 20's; okay, 29, but I'm still hip and cool.". (Well, to be honest, if you say things like "hip and cool" then you really just aren't because to say "hip" isn't even cool anymore. So there you have it. I'm holding on to my last days in my 20's.
I really should do something like listen to a different favorite 90's band everyday or wear some of my old clothes that I have had for about 10 years now or something like that this week. Maybe I'll try on my wedding dress or something....while no one is looking....or maybe even my old cheerleading uniform.....don't think I'm brave enough for that one yet....another 10 pounds maybe....
But, really I have to be honest with myself. I have been so busy and focused on my training for the Triathlon and now that I'm back from FL I have to get into training for this Half-Marathon that I really don't care that I'm turning 30 much. I have more energy, more muscle, and more drive than I have had in years. So maybe I really am hip and cool because when you look hip and cool and feel hip and cool you can say things like hip and cool and it really is hip and cool. (I just wanted to see how many times I could write the words 'hip and cool' in one sentence and try to make it work - 5 times - cool...and oh yeah, hip!)
I went from 29 and squishy to 30 and energetic!! This month's race will make my 7th race since March. I went from barely being able to run a mile in March to running a Half-Marathon at the end of this month.
IF I CAN DO IT - THEN YOU CAN TOO!!
I have heard incredible stories from ladies in Hot Mommas. I want you to start writing your own incredible story and have your own incredible results.
Find your drive again!
Find your coolness again!
Find your waistline again!
Find your sassiness again!
Let's all be HIP and COOL!!
Have a sweaty week!
GO!, GO!, GO!
