3 pounds!

3 bucks!
Let's start with 3 POUNDS.
My name is Bonnie, and I am a Peanut M&Maholic. I went BJs (just like Costco) last Tues and they had a coupon for $2 off a 5 lb bag of Peanut M&Ms making them only 5 bucks. I swear the Heaven's opened and a beam of light accompanied by a chorus of sweet angels singing to me, "Hallelujah! Hallelujah! " I love them. I need them. I crave them. I can't allow a bag of them near me. So I waited until I was all the way done shopping and then I just walked up to them and stared. The internal conflict was enormous and way to long to type, but in the end I just walked away. I did it. I walked away. I found myself with a sly smile on my face when I walked out of the door. I was so proud of myself. I conquered Mt. Everest!!
Then came Wed. Wed afternoons I work at my daughter's school for a few hours. It is the only day of the week that my body feels it is absolutely necessary to have a nap, and of course the only day that I can't. So back in the fall, I started eating Peanut M&Ms before I went to the school to give me some quick sugar (and protein - nuts, right?). I don't have them every week, but I want them. BAD!! So anyway, last Wed (the day right after my Mt. Everest climb remember) I left my boys at their play date and pulled out of the driveway thinking. no peanut m&ms...I should have bought them....no, you did the right thing, remember the great feeling of triumph....no peanut m&ms.....I really need them....I can see my hand starting to twitch....what am I going to do. So I did what nay sane person would do. I raced across 3 lanes of traffic without looking completely for other cars and darted into a CVS. I walked on in. I was on a mission. Immediately I saw the candy counter under the checkout desk and there were the regular size Peanut M&Ms all ready to go. I passed them by. Next, I saw the King Size Peanut M&M bag - yep, you guessed it, I just kept on walkin'. I knew from my previous CVS experience in the month (I have got to avoid this place in the future) that there was an Easter candy isle stocked and full of big, large, and super huge bags of Easter candy. So I bee-line right for the Easter isle and grab the biggest bag they have to offer - 3 lbs. Not the 5 pounder that I so successfully avoided but a good chunker weighing in at 3 lbs. (cost just about the same as that 5 pounder with the coupon - that's what I get!). So anyway, I grab that bad boy and check out. Now I'm driving to the school with an open bag beside me and lookin' like a robot with the "hand to the bag - hand to the mouth motion" going on over and over again. I was disappointed in myself but too lost in my Peanut M&M bliss to really care. I ate them. and ate them. and ate them. I ate them until I didn't want them anymore and then ate them again. I ate them until I knew I had no further need of chocolate and peanuts and then continued to eat them. I ate them all the way to the school 'hand in bag - hand to mouth' and then when I got to the school and knew I would be separated I filled my pockets and hoped the kids wouldn't see or smell them. The next day I continued to eat them. They sat on the passenger seat and the robot impulse took over again. Until something terrible happened. "hand to bag" and nothing.....not a single m&m. all gone. all 3 POUNDS gone. in less than 24 hours (do I have to count 2 sugar points on that one?) I would say it was just like a one-night-stand. All fun and pleasure and then guilt and remorse, but I have never experienced a one-night- stand (thank goodness) but I imagine this would be the feeling. 3 pounds?? 3 pounds. I did happen to find one more in the floor of the car when I was vacuuming it out later that day, and yes, after a little smile I ate it too. I just tumbled down Mt. Everest face first!
So I give you a 3 POUND challenge this month. I will do it with you for sure. If you can lose 3 POUNDS this month you get double your weight loss points. (Actually just double any weight loss points!)
But let the goal be 3 pounds!!
