Once again it is the race to the finish line!! Yeah!
I love this part.
I have been hearing that this is a month of trials and successes. I know that 2 months in a row and of this complete life change (whether it is or not when you have to track something like points it does seem to take over you life and mind) can be trying, exhausting, and at times overwhelming. So, I applaud all that are hanging in there so valiantly!! YOU ROCK!!
Look how far you have come!! Some have conquered addictions to soda. Some have been drinking 90 oz or H2O a day. Some have lost 5 pounds in a week. Some have been so sore they could hardly sit down. Some are back into pre-pregnancy clothes. Some are rockin' it. Some are smashing it. And some of you are probably still sitting on the couch poppin' oreos.
Which Momma are you?
Is that a good thing?
I hope it is a very good thing! I hope you are running from those jeans that when fold while doing laundry you say "oh my gosh. are my buns really that big?". Run, Momma, Run! I hope you are racing to the laundry pile that is full of sports bras and spandex pants and holding up jeans that you say "oh my gosh. can my hips really fit in there? well they must because I wore them yesterday! YEAH! WOO-HOO! Look at me and my teenie jeanies!!".
But, mostly I hope you are feeling better. I hope with prioritizing your life in an effort to get all the points in (scripture study, book reading, family time, BFF time, cleaning time, etc.) you feel more put together, well rounded, and accomplished. Not to mention all the good workouts in there and that time decreasing your stress level.
In keeping up with The Total Fitness outlook, for the last week of February I have a different sort of inspiration and challenge to guide us through. By now you should have your Healthy Habits memorized and down pat. You also should have a good workout routine going on. (BTW- thanks to all who commented on enjoying the strength challenge this week - although I didn't notice any praise for the jump roping....hmmmm?? ....can't quite understand that one).
But seriously, this week Smokin' Hot Mommas are coming UNPLUGGED!!
As some of you may know, this week is National Unplugged Week. That means get your kids and yourself off the TV, movies, and computer (I'm assuming games and shopping on this one) and do something better and more productive with the time. What a great idea!
In an attempt to prove to everyone that I am not completely shallow, and in true Hot Momma fashion we are unplugging a few things- (oh you're gonna like this!)
Because I think these are so important I am giving them serious points so get serious!!
RULES:
For the UNPLUGGED challenge you can do 3 challenges total. (if you want to participate that is)
Everyone can do the first 2 challenges- Zombies and Casseroles.
Then you must choose (not both- or at least you can't count points for both) either Microphone or Colon.
If you have kids and/or a spouse you MUST do the Microphone challenge!
If you do NOT have kids and/or a spouse you MUST do the great Colon Cleanse!
THERE IS A 30 POINT MAX plus a 2 pt service blog comment! Be careful one slip up could cost you 10 points! OUCH!
ZOMBIES UNPLUGGED! (10 points)
- Here is the national challenge. Turn off the TV and games for one week for you and your kids. Read, play sports, go on walks, call friends, play games, do crafts, clean?, etc. ALL WEEK!! You don't get the points if your kids fold on this.
CASSEROLES UNPLUGGED! (10 points)
- Do 2 acts of service this week. One HAS to be anonymous. Make it good. Make it worth 10 points. This is up to you, but seek out those in need. You're gonna love this one! Also add 2 points for any blog (or email to me that I will post on the blog) on how this one went for you. You can keep your comment general if your service needs to remain anonymous.
For those with kids or spouse do MICROPHONES UNPLUGGED-
MICROPHONES UNPLUGGED! (10 points for SHM but bonus points in Heaven)
- I don't know about you but my house is really loud. As you can imagine, I am a loud person and my kids have inherited this also. But, I do yell entirely too much. So out of selfishness this challenge is for me, but I'm the cheerleader so I get to do that sort of thing. This challenge is unplugging that microphone we use for a voice. Stop yelling. (sorry this does not apply for those that attend my aerobics class) Stop talking loudly, harshly, or yelling at your kids or spouse this week. Go the whole week using a softer, calmer, and more controlled voice and temperament. something like "a soft answer turneth away wrath...." See how this goes for you. I'll see how it goes for me. Of course emergency yelling is permitted. Emergency ladies. Like "don't eat that!! That guy just spit it out why would you pick it up and put it in your mouth?!" or "Don't touch that!! It will burn off your fingerprints!!" You know emergencies.
For those without kids or spouses do COLON UNPLUGGED! (yeah, I know. awesome.)
COLON UNPLUGGED! (10 points)
- Ok so you can't have a challenge titled Unplugged without talking about colons now can you?! So this week it's clean out the system time. We should all be taking in good amounts of water and good amounts of fiber from all the fresh fruits and veggies and hopefully good snack choices we are making. Take in at least 25 grams of fiber a day. That shouldn't be hard (and neither should going to the bathroom - hah! I just couldn't let that pass. Hah! "let that pass!") I feel like I'm an 8th grade boy right now. so sorry you had to read all of that.
So anyway, there are the challenges. I hope you enjoy them. They are very different, but we are on a quest for TOTAL FITNESS are we not?! How can we obtain that if we don't include all important areas of life like family dynamics, charity, and clean colons? Huh, how?
I BELIEVE IN YOU!!
YOU BELIEVE IN YOU!!
YOU ARE POWER!!
LOOK OUT WORLD HERE WE COME AND WE ARE WEARING SPORTS BRAS (but not without shirts) AND EATING FIBER ONE BARS!!
I don't really know what that means bbbuuuuuuuuttttttttttttttttt..............
A BIG RAH! RAH!
